In 1995 an additional 8500sqm was added to the centre at a total cost of R110 million as the centre had aged quite dramatically by 2005. The additional GLA included exciting new tenants such as Mr Price Sport, Fashion Express, Mr Price Home, JET as well as catering for an extended ABSA branch. A new-look food court was introduced anchored by a Nu Metro Cinema complex, Let's Go Bowling and Wonderland outlet. Not only was the centre extended, but the additional parking was added to cater for the growing needs of the customers. The refurbishment project was completed by June 2006 transforming and repositioning N1 City Mall as the 4th largest shopping centre in the Western Cape. The centre now measures in excess of 64,000m2 with a selection of over 140 vibrant stores.

N1 City Mall now offers shoppers a dedicated and exciting food court including operators such as Texas Spur, Mike's Kitchen, Ocean Basket, Nando's, Steers and Wimpy. The exciting new food court offers the hungry shopper ample seating in a clean and stylish environment with the latest sporting entertainment on the big screen. Although most of the eateries are conveniently situated in the food court area, a variety of excellent coffee shops which include Mugg & Bean, Café Fino and Maxi's, are also situated throughout the Mall.
